Gallery Night and Glacier

How neat to be able to walk into a trendy art gallery/gift shop/pottery studio and see my big sister's paintings!
We're so amazed by you Jess!

Lake McDonald
And how I looove going to Glacier.
Any trip through the entrance gates is a great one for me, even if we only go and find a little rocky beach to enjoy our picnic with a trillion dollar view.

Cabin Life

Here are a few ways we spent the lazy days at the cabin.

Playin' around
Tapping our toes in the water

Cleaning off in the tub

Lighting fireworks for the 4th

Flying a neat kite

Sleeping in under cozy blankets

TUBING! down Rock Creek.  I haven't gone tubing since college.

Monday Morning photo

We are leaving tomorrow for a weeklong trip to Montana.  To say we're excited is putting it mildly, I think all of us want to get out of the heat and relax with family.  So for the 4th of July we will be at the in law's cabin, away from all the loud fireworks and barking dogs.
I saw a Red, White, and Blue banner in Plow and Hearth magazine and didn't want to spend all that money so I bought some fabric and made my own.  It turned out great, although when the wind picks up it twists them all around.
The porch is used heavily by the little boys

Garden photo, July 1st:
Can't wait to come back and see what has survived, and what is ready for eatin'!

Bighorn Hike

Tyler took this photo on the start of our hike.

Running to catch up with Shawn and Cash

We love the woods!

Even Cash got some exercise.  He usually went too fast though and wiped out.

A very buggy lunch spot

Many hours have been spent sleeping in this backpack!

Another Parade

Lots of parades in these Wyoming towns.  This one was for Lovell's "Mustang Days."  Tyler was fairly obsessed with getting candy, while Cash was more interested in watching things go by.  This parade handed out lots of frozen popsicles and even ice cream treats!  We were impressed.

Elmer Fudd?

Mickey Mouse

This makes me shudder....these characters were really creepy!

Just another weekend.

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so."  Mary Jean Irion
All our days lately are full of routines.  Naptimes, lunchtimes, cartoons, yard watering, etc.
And this last weekend Cash dominated the hours with crying, moaning, and being cranky.  This morning the doctor looked at his ear and determined an ear infection....which we already suspected.  Hopefully the antibiotics kick in soon.
So what I may think of as boring, or monotonous, I saw this quote and it made me think differently.  Another normal weekend, full of beauty, family, and fun (except we are exhausted from the all-night crying jags).
How fun to find Cash quietly playing in the laundry room and tearing apart all the clothespins

Stopping to smell the flowers

Deaver Lake, a 20 minute drive down the highway.  They got pounded with rain, all we got was wind and thunder.

Another lake nearby, where the boys like to go fish

Morning Photos

It's 7:45 am and the boys are already outside playing.  They get out there before the wind and the heat, and before I have even had a cup of coffee.

My half-done wine bottle garden.  I only need about 40 more bottles.  Which is a lot when you start to think about it.

Green grass where 2 months ago it was just dirt. And rock.

The back deck, where no one sits because every evening we are too busy, and this time of year the afternoons/evenings are so unsettled that there is wind or thunder or a million mosquitoes.
