Portrait #8:: Egging

Tyler liked acting like a mad scientist with his egg-dyeing.  He would have transferred eggs from one bowl to the other for hours just to see the colors that were made.

A little crazy

I must be a little crazy to keep starting projects outside.
I decided to put pavers down in front of the door.
One day it is sunny and warm, so we make a lot of progress...

and then a few days later we wake up to this.  Not complaining about the snow or moisture, but everyone knows March is the cruelest month with its ups and downs in temperatures.

Cash is spending his time trying to drive us nuts.  He is an energizer bunny that never slows down.

Maybe once in a while he sits still to be by big brother.

Then there are mornings where I take a quick shower, and come into the living room to find this going on.  Maybe I'm not the crazy one.

Portrait #7 :: My Son-shine

I love this charming boy, he is just who I had hoped for

Nothing better than warm, freshly-fluffed dirt

What are you thinking about?

Ski joring

This weekend, a friend from my college days competed in the National Finals of Ski joring.  We met up with some other friends and drove over to watch.  It was blustery and cool, but no one seemed to want to go home early.

the contestants gathered for a pre-race meeting

These two hold their lips the same way.

The peewee racers go by just as fast as the adults

Lots of Forestry School memories with these two.

Donelle is the skier, this is her first year competing.

Hiking in the Spring Sunshine

My friend Stephanie and her two kids met up with us last weekend to take us on a new hike near our house.
Everyone had spring fever, and I even got a little suntan.

This morning Cash broke my favorite pink sunglasses.
I'm heartbroken, but at least I have lots of memories wearing them.

Hmmm....what's in this "power bar?"

Washakie Museum--Worland, WY

Last week the boys and I drove down to Worland, Wyoming (just over an hour) and went to the Washakie Museum and Cultural Center, lunch, and a car dealership.
We had gotten a gimmicky flyer with a scratchoff sweepstakes in the mail saying we should could win a new car....or a gold-plated coin.  Shawn and I figured that you can't win if you don't try, so down we went, and Tyler is now the proud owner of a Gold-plated bar worth about $28.  You win some, you lose some!
We were winners when going to the museum, it was really family-friendly and had just enough dinosaurs to keep Tyler entertained, and just enough buttons to keep Cash's fingers busy.

People could color their own artwork and put it on the walls.  Loved this idea!
